A very typical bird. The scapulars, which are already moulted, show extensive and strong dark markings. The Greater Coverts show the classical (though variable) pattern of this species: on some inner feathers, the pale edge is quite broad and notched towards the center, on the outer Greater Coverts these notches are missing. Generally a large and heavy bird. |
