1st cal. year Yellow-legged Gull / 1. KJ Mittelmeermöwe (Larus michahellis) |
On the outer two tertials and on some of the inner Greater Coverts, this bird shows an indication of the vermiculated pattern and of isolated round spots, which are normally typical for 2nd cy birds. However, especially the outer Median and Lesser Coverts (close to the wing bend) are still juvenile (dark brown feather centre with only a narrow pale edge) and together with the rest of the bird identify it as a 1cy. |
